Job Description
- To provide technical support and capacity strengthening in HIV counseling and testing, HIV/STI prevention education, STI syndromic management, ART and PrEP adherence counseling, care and psycho-social support group services and HIV related health care services at the community and facility level.
Responsibilities
To support Diadem Consults Initiative Ltd/GTE, achieve the following:
- Support the integration of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services (Pre & Post exposure prophylaxis services, ART, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Cryotherapy and screening for co-morbidities e.g. cervical cancer screening, TB screening, Hepatitis screening) to Key Populations in line with current World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and national guidelines both at the One-Stop-Shop and through community ART teams and report performance indicators as appropriate.
- Elicit for sexual partners from all clients newly enrolled and currently on treatment.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of best practices, lessons learned and results and highlight the success of community based comprehensive HIV prevention, treatment and care among key populations.
- Provide psychosocial support and trauma informed care and support, treatment, and referral services to Key affected population.
- Provide STI syndomic management to PLHIV on the field and in the OSS.
- Provide comprehensive triage (in-clinic and/or mobile) and clinical assessment service to clients resulting in safe and appropriate clinical decisions that reflect their healthcare needs.
- Initiate appropriate nursing interventions (e.g. first aid and emergency interventions) to improve client outcomes and secure the safety of clients and clinic staff
- Make recommendations for care utilizing approved SOPs and protocols
- Where referrals for other healthcare services are necessary, support arrangements for the appropriate service via the appropriate referral system
- Act as the client advocate during the assessment process, identifying potential risk factors for clients (including GBV and other welfare issues) for referrals the appropriate service following agreed processes
- Deal professionally and sensitively with highly personal, delicate, confidential and sometimes complex issues
- Create new medical records including clients’ treatment information and other relevant parameters
- Document accurate and concise clinical summary that outlines reasons for visit, decisions reached, relevant client history and follow up appointments with timescale given to client.
- Part of the retention and case management team in monitoring adherence; working with clients and other health service providers to address difficulties
- Doubles as Focal person for GBV and STI including all electronic and hard-copy documentations and reporting.
Qualifications
- Level of Education – Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years experience
- Current registration with the Nursing and MidwiferyCouncil of Nigeria
- Experience in public health and infectious diseases
- General Communication, supervisory and interpersonal skill level – Excellent.
