About The Role
We are looking for a full-time School Inspection Manager to lead and manage a large School Inspection (audit) team focused on improving learning outcomes in government schools. This role will be key in providing technical and managerial leadership to the team, ensuring high-quality data is collected to inform decision-making at all levels. The School Inspection team plays a critical role in assessing all school operations, ensuring audits are conducted to provide accurate insights that drive continuous improvement in schools.
The School Inspection Manager will oversee daily operations, develop audit processes, analyze data from inspections, and collaborate with other departments to ensure that identified issues are addressed quickly. This position requires leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive operational excellence to create a safe and productive learning environment. The manager will lead a large field team and report to the executive leadership team, either the Project Director or Managing Director.
What You Will Do
- Establish School Inspection Procedures: Create and implement audit procedures and methodologies, identifying areas for improvement in current processes and enhancing quality control.
- Manage School Inspection Staff: Lead and mentor a team of School Inspection Associates, ensuring proper training, supervision, and effective execution of audit processes. Ensure corrective actions for nonconformities are timely and sustainable.
- Report Quality Issues: Ensure timely visibility of audit results to the Schools Department and other relevant departments (Operations, Supply Chain, IT, People). Work with teams to resolve identified issues quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain Records: Keep comprehensive records of inspection activities, ensuring data integrity and providing insights into areas needing correction or improvement.
- Analyze Data and Create Reports: Review audit data to identify patterns and areas for improvement, using reports to drive improvements in school operations. Ensure rapid data analysis to support real-time decision-making.
- Lead and Execute Projects: Plan, execute, and manage projects, coordinating with various departments and managing team performance. Be adaptable in overcoming obstacles and ensuring successful project completion.
- Provide Technical Expertise: Work with School Inspection services to align audits with program needs, providing technical input and ensuring audits meet the organization’s goals.
- Team Capacity Building: Oversee training and development for the School Inspection team, including regular field visits to coach and ensure deliverables are met.
What You Should Have
- A bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university (quantitative degrees preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing field teams, particularly in data collection or audit projects.
- Strong team management skills to direct, mentor, and motivate field associates.
- Experience with process improvement and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple inspection procedures and ensure smooth operations.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), capable of explaining complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on quantitative data.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Google Docs, MS PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and a strong problem-solver with a track record of successful execution.
- A passionate advocate for the well-being of children and educators, making decisions with their benefit in mind.
- Bonus: Experience in school inspection/audit, survey design, working in high-growth environments, or using data collection tools like KoBo Toolbox, ODK, or statistical tools like R, Stata, or Python.
