The Role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Child Marriage in Humanitarian Settings Technical Lead to enhance and expand Plan’s Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA) efforts, focusing on gender-based violence (GBV), particularly child marriage, and supporting adolescent girls.
The Technical Lead will spearhead a global initiative aimed at scaling programming targeting adolescents, with a strong emphasis on child marriage, in partnership with UNHCR.
Your role will involve creating and distributing global resources and tools to strengthen child protection efforts addressing child marriage in humanitarian settings, and leading a learning agenda to build capacity for inter-agency staff, enhancing their skills in handling child marriage, supporting GBV survivors, and working with adolescent girls.
As the lead for child marriage within humanitarian contexts, you will identify and secure diverse funding opportunities for programming, advocacy, and coordination, and provide strategic direction on research and policy initiatives to address gaps in evidence and knowledge, ensuring relevance and avoiding redundancy in country-level programs.
Additionally, you will represent Plan International in external forums, engaging with the humanitarian coordination system, UN agencies, and donors to drive the uptake of programming and advocacy efforts aimed at addressing adolescent GBV, especially child marriage.
