About the Role:
The Project Specialist will be responsible for coordinating program activities within a designated state (Kaduna, Delta, or Oyo). This involves supervising, monitoring, and reporting on interventions, managing administrative procedures, and serving as the primary point of contact at the state level. The Specialist will work closely with the Program Lead and other team members to ensure successful project implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Implementation: Plan and execute field-level project activities.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor project progress and evaluate its impact.
- Documentation: Maintain organized project documentation (hard and soft copies).
- Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to project indicators.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on project performance against targets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Girl Effect at state-level meetings, forums, and conferences.
- Other Tasks: Support project implementation, conduct supervisory activities, and utilize learnings to improve project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in social sciences (MPH, epidemiology, sociology, community development, etc.) OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management (Log Frame Analysis, work planning, reporting, Results-Based Management).
- Experience working with donor-funded projects.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project/business management.
- Experience in project design, setup, and closeout.
- Experience in adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health, IEC, and SBCC activities.
- Experience managing finances for donor-funded projects.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders, including government officials at regional, state, and LGA levels.
Desirable:
- Experience working on health-related or community development projects.
Commitment:
- Full-time consultancy (approximately 40 hours per week).
- Duration: 6 months (March 2025 – August 2025).
- Location: Kaduna, Delta, or Oyo State, Nigeria.
Management:
The Project Specialist will report to the Nigeria Program Lead. All materials and reports must be in English.
