Job Overview:
The IT Support Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This involves offering technical support, troubleshooting issues, and addressing the IT requirements of both end users and the organization at large.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure reliable IT platforms and infrastructure to support Rainoil’s business activities.
- Assist in the execution of IT strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Design, plan, and maintain data networks and servers.
- Provide technical assistance for network-related issues.
- Manage the daily operation of networks and servers.
- Implement procedures for LAN/WAN maintenance and management.
- Set up and manage user accounts, profiles, file sharing, and access rights on the company intranet.
- Install and maintain both physical and virtual network servers and related appliances.
- Oversee daily network operations within Rainoil.
- Manage the Enterprise Security application (Sophos).
- Ensure the proper functioning of peripheral equipment like printers and scanners.
- Assist the Head of IT with hardware deployment across the company.
- Maintain logs and records of data transactions, issues, and resolutions.
- Offer support and maintenance for business software and applications.
- Create user accounts in the company’s active directory and assign software access rights.
- Install client/server applications, update software patches, and troubleshoot compatibility issues, escalating when necessary.
- Supervise and conduct hands-on training for computer users.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for software, data, and applications.
- Handle the addition, removal, and updating of staff data and access rights according to the information security policy.
Qualifications:
- A BSc. in Computer Science with a second-class upper division.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
