Job Responsibilities
Sales Management:
- Implement the branch’s sales strategy tailored to the local market to ensure sales targets are met, including product knowledge, cross-selling, and staying updated on market trends to identify sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Focus on driving customer acquisition and increasing volumes in the Bank’s commercial business by opening various types of accounts.
- Provide feedback to the sales team and product management regarding market conditions and development/upgrade opportunities for products aimed at small and medium-sized businesses and individuals.
- Manage and nurture existing commercial business relationships while seeking new accounts.
- Present sales pitches to potential clients and engage in proactive outreach.
- Promote a positive sales environment by educating clients on the Bank’s products and services.
- Convert service recovery situations into business opportunities to retain customer loyalty.
- Visit clients and prospective customers to assess their needs and promote services.
- Coordinate sales activities with marketing efforts.
Risk Management:
- Assess lending risks and ensure they align with the bank’s risk appetite while maximizing profitability from transactions.
- Follow the Bank’s complaint resolution process to resolve issues, uphold service standards, and mitigate risks or losses.
- Adhere to KYC policies and procedures to minimize fraud risks.
- Discuss loan terms, conduct collateral risk assessments, and ensure compliance with bank policies.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and valid within the assigned portfolio.
- Comply with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
Financial Management:
- Review and analyze financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and other complex financial reports to provide accurate assessments.
- Conduct prequalification assessments and analyze financial conditions and risks within the Bank’s credit framework, considering industry and economic trends.
- Evaluate loan documents and financial statements of new clients.
- Contribute to growing deposits, loans, and overdrafts to enhance branch profitability.
- Assist Branch Managers with deposit funding and credit proposal documentation.
- Negotiate contracts with prospective clients.
- Address customer inquiries about credit terms, products, pricing, and availability.
Customer Service:
- Maintain high customer service standards to improve service delivery.
- Log customer complaints, identify root causes, and address them to prevent recurrence.
- Offer appropriate products and services through the most suitable channels to meet customer needs.
- Provide a personalized and consistent customer experience through comprehensive needs analysis and consultations for portfolio management.
- Communicate regularly with clients to offer portfolio updates and guidance.
- Serve as a problem solver, helping clients clarify their investment criteria and addressing any concerns during consultations.
- Follow all processes and procedures when interacting with customers.
- Advise customers on financial services and resolve complaints.
- Engage customers to promote banking products and services.
- Approach and onboard new customers.
People Management:
- Collaborate with branch peers to ensure effective support and service delivery.
- Foster a positive, proactive culture and meet safety and wellbeing compliance standards.
- Demonstrate leadership by modeling the Bank’s values and adhering to HR policies.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Education: A minimum of a First Degree in any field; additional qualifications are an advantage.
- Experience: At least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in sales and marketing.
- Professional Certification: CIBN.
