About the Job

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Inspector is to coordinate and oversee inspections, evaluating all process and auxiliary equipment to ensure each piece is properly monitored and maintained for optimal operational performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Regularly communicate with operations personnel to gather information about equipment issues or concerns and how they impact the process.
  • Analyze situations to identify whether the problem is mechanical, electrical, or operational, and recommend appropriate solutions to maximize resource usage.
  • Investigate equipment issues and suggest modifications or replacements as needed.
  • Address recurring problems and initiate corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Continuously update Production, Process, and Maintenance teams about the condition of equipment and advise when equipment should be shut down to avoid damage or safety risks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety practices, availability of safety equipment, and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Maintain data on equipment reliability to assist departments with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), including tracking vibrations, temperatures, operational hours, causes, Pareto charts, etc.
  • Ensure work orders are created in the CMMS system for equipment adjustments or repairs, verifying correct equipment numbers, descriptions, priority codes, and appropriate workshop or plant codes.
  • Oversee a Thermographic Analysis Program for critical electrical equipment and report findings with recommendations when needed.
  • Prepare daily work schedules for preventive maintenance tasks using CMMS, documenting and monitoring equipment history.
  • Participate in the administration of a Plant Lubrication Program to minimize environmental impact.
  • Assist in planning systematic overhauls of major equipment.
  • Participate in the Maintenance Supervisor On-Call Program.
  • Record all temperatures, pressures, and other relevant data from the CCR for analysis.
  • Take responsibility for the electrical integrity of plant machinery.
  • Ensure adherence to EMS Methods Instrumentation activities.
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the plant’s integrated management system.
  • Conduct systematic inspections of all plant equipment, recording data and following up with the appropriate personnel.
  • Administer the Thermographic Analysis Program for critical electrical equipment and report results with necessary recommendations.
  • Perform specific tasks such as basic NDT inspections and record relevant data from CCR.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Electrical Engineering or at least 5 years of experience in cement manufacturing. Computer literacy is essential.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work independently, and manage stress effectively are required for success in this role.

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong understanding of plant equipment.
  • Familiarity with the cement process is crucial.
  • Proficient with basic measuring tools.
  • Computer literacy is required.
