Job Description – Key Responsibilities and Performance Indicators:
- Contribute actively to the preparation and management of annual budgets, ensuring actual performance is compared against the budget. Identify variances, analyze them, and develop strategies to implement corrective actions.
- Lead business performance improvement by analyzing portfolio management and category development, as well as reporting on financial performance.
- Oversee mergers and acquisitions (M&A), transfer pricing, and the creation of accounting and financial policies. Ensure proper system controls are in place for both new and existing businesses.
- Ensure timely financial reporting, including MIS and other financial statements, while adhering to statutory deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the Management Information System (MIS) and computerized accounting system, making necessary upgrades to meet evolving business needs.
- Develop and implement a strong management accounting function, offering leadership for organizational improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and adopt relevant techniques for management accounting, guiding their implementation.
- Manage treasury functions, including forecasting future cash flows, securing funds for daily operations, and ensuring disbursements align with approved operational cash flow. Work with banks and monitor daily cash balances while submitting cash flow statements.
- Lead initiatives to improve productivity across processes and systems, advising operational managers on workflow analysis, systems enhancement, and cost management.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to support decision-making at Board and JV meetings. Provide insights into financial performance, business opportunities, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with the organization’s objectives and effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Deliverables:
- Business Financial Insights: Provide in-depth financial and management accounting expertise to accurately reflect business performance, offering timely and relevant financial advice aligned with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Controls, Compliance & Assurance: Evaluate risks and business issues, assessing their impact on management audits, and adapting audit procedures as needed. Ensure compliance with legal and audit regulations, both locally and internationally.
- Reporting & Process Efficiencies: Implement and optimize systems and processes that align with business needs. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in MIS reporting, budgeting, and year-end forecasting, in compliance with relevant systems and standards.
- Business Partnering: Combine commercial, financial, and analytical skills to support business growth. Work as an equal partner with the business to facilitate expansion and the adoption of new platforms.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant or ACCA with 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years as an FC or CFO managing end-to-end financials.
- Strong leadership skills with expertise in team management, problem-solving, decision-making, and delivering value.
- Commercial acumen to support and drive business growth strategies.
