Job Overview
The role is responsible for leading a high-performing team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to consistently deliver impactful results. The position involves managing the full lifecycle of data science products and portfolios, driving the development of new machine learning capabilities, and delivering business value through advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management:
Guide, mentor, and motivate a team of data scientists, offering expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data-driven decision-making. Promote career growth and create an environment that encourages continuous learning and innovation within the team. - Product Management:
Work closely with business development, product managers, and other stakeholders to enhance and evolve existing data science products. Manage the entire product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements. Oversee the deployment and ongoing maintenance of machine learning models, ensuring they are robust and scalable. - Solution Innovation & Development:
Design and develop new data-driven products and services, leveraging machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics to address emerging business needs. Identify and apply innovative data science solutions to add more value to the platform. Integrate machine learning capabilities into operational processes to boost efficiency and accuracy. - Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnerships:
Collaborate with business development teams to explore new data solution opportunities and act as the technical expert to support data-driven partnerships. Work with product managers to define the technical requirements for new features and improvements, ensuring smooth integration of data science solutions. - Research & Development:
Stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning, AI, and data engineering. Lead R&D efforts on cutting-edge techniques such as natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and predictive modeling, ensuring ongoing product enhancements. - Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all data science initiatives, ensuring measurable business growth and operational efficiency. Drive ongoing improvements in the performance of deployed models, optimizing for speed, accuracy, and interpretability. Implement MLOps best practices and enhance infrastructure for all machine learning and data science projects.
Requirements
- Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics, preferably in fintech, telecommunications, or banking.
At least 2-3 years of experience in leading junior data scientists.
Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying data science products in production environments. - Professional Qualifications:
Not mandatory.
