What You Will Be Doing:
Procurement Management:
- Collaborative demand planning with user teams and stakeholders
- Analyse and negotiate contractual agreements, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions are included to protect the interests of the company
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, purchase and fulfilment
- Monitor and analyse procurement metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Drive the Procurement rights in operational deliverables including the rights to fair competition, professional development, transparency, effective communication and ethical behaviour
- Advocate for Customer service by enforcing the Five rights of purchasing (right product, quantity, quality, place and time)
- Steer budget compliance in collaboration with the Finance team
- Review and approve purchase orders in line with the Financial Delegation of Authority documentation procurement-related documentation and justified source documents
Vendor Management:
- Mitigate supply risk by having alternative supply sources for each critical item
- Perform post-delivery, periodic vendor evaluations, communicate feedback and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Manage the onboarding / due diligence (and deboarding process) in accordance with approved Procurement policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and consultancy with respect to company, regulatory and Procurement policies
- Conduct Vendor site visitations as part of modalities to ensure operational efficiency
- Coordinate with team HODs to align vendor management with overall business objectives
- Vendor database rationalisation
Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance
- Identify and assess potential risks across the supply chain, including supplier-related, logistical, operational, and financial risks plus develop strategies to mitigate them
- Participation in audit cycles inclusive of information management and implementation of audit feedback
- Collaborate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to implement risk management measures
- Monitor the maintenance of supply chain records in designated virtual locations
Inbound and Outbound Logistics
- Oversee the planning and coordination of inbound and outbound logistics activities
- Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Coordinate with carriers and third-party logistics providers to ensure service levels
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delays
- Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping
- Address and resolve any logistics-related issues or discrepancies
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust reorder points as necessary
- Work with the Inventory team to analyse inventory data to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Collaborate with the warehousing team to ensure proper storage and handling of goods
- Develop and manage inventory policies and procedures
- Evaluate and improve inventory processes to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Optimize inventory storage and layout to improve accessibility and efficiency
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of inventory
Business Support
- Governance: Develop and formulate purchasing procedures and practices as required and provide guidance to stakeholders on application of same
- Collaborate with team leads / HODs in the capacity of tactical business partner on process management, cost savings, reduction and avoidance initiatives
- ERP utilization and administration for the Procurement, Inventory and Vendor modules
- Support the budgeting process rand financial planning as related to the supply chain processes
- Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance via goal setting and performance management cycles
- Coordinate routine reports
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the supply chain team

External – Vendors, Auditors and interested external stakeholders.
What You Need for This Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Relevant professional certification (e.g. CIPS, APICS, and so on) is a plus
- At least 8 years’ cognate experience in Banking, FinTech or Telecoms
- Flexibility in Thinking: Ability to adapt and adjust strategies based on evolving supply chain conditions and challenges
- Effective Communication: Proficiency in clearly communicating, both verbally and in writing, with senior executives and C-Level individuals
- Business Acumen and Corporate Governance: Solid understanding of business principles and governance practices relevant to supply chain management
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage teams to achieve supply chain objectives and drive continuous improvement
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel), financial modelling tools)
- Attention to details and accuracy
