Job Overview

IT Operations:
IT Operations ensures the seamless delivery of technology across the organization, providing essential technology support for everyone, from school staff to executives. It manages the technical infrastructure that links our global offices and supports back-office systems, including customer service centers, finance teams, warehouses, and more. IT Operations also serves as the primary advocate for all technology-related matters within the organization, ensuring that the work of other technology departments aligns with their goals.

Role Overview:
The IT Manager will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service through the efficient management, maintenance, and enhancement of IT functions. The role also involves ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems and operations while managing IT officers and associates. Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours is required, as is the ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Support Management:

  • Act as the primary IT support contact for all local ESPOIR staff, covering hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Manage service requests and service desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and efficient prioritization.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, resolving them or escalating them to colleagues, vendors, or partners as needed.
  • Monitor and manage IT operational performance.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, IT governance, and best practices.
  • Deploy and maintain hardware, school technology, and related peripherals, including both new installations and redeployments.
  • Install and configure operating systems and software under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Recommend, source, install, and maintain network equipment such as firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Manage local network infrastructure, ensuring network security and compliance with IT policies.
  • Lead IT infrastructure improvement projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Perform upgrades, new installations, and routine maintenance of existing IT equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software, ensuring records are updated in the service desk system.
  • Expedite hardware repairs and software issue resolutions, liaising with relevant suppliers as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to monitor system performance, escalating issues as required.
  • Provide technical assistance to project teams and take on technical project roles when needed.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers.

Customer Service:

  • Deliver excellent, professional, and efficient support to users.
  • Provide fast and courteous responses to individual users.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff members.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement within the IT department.

What You Should Have:

  • Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related field with excellent academic performance.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of relevant IT industry experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, current operating systems, protocols, and standards.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
    • Experience with Windows desktop (7/8/X) and Windows Server (2012 or newer), Microsoft Office support, and Active Directory administration.
    • Familiarity with network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Experience with Android technologies, smartphones, LAN, and Wi-Fi configurations.
    • Experience managing Microsoft systems like Navision, IIS, or SharePoint.
    • Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS.
    • Experience working and training on a wide range of IT applications and subjects.
  • Skills:
