This role plays a crucial part in FrieslandCampina’s success by ensuring a high level of competence within the Customer Supply Chain organizations. The warehouse operations at FrieslandCampina manage the flow of raw materials and finished goods, from the moment they enter the warehouse until they are shipped to customers or safely delivered to customer storage facilities.

Vacancy Description

• Define and implement the warehousing strategy for OPCO Nigeria.
• Lead the warehouse strategic plans and provide input to the Customer Supply Chain strategy for OPCO Nigeria.
• Develop a warehousing strategy, including Logistics Service Providers (LSP), aligned with the OPCO strategy and budgets.
• Oversee the efficient operation of warehousing, ensuring timely product delivery to customers in line with OPCO’s strategy and annual plans.
• Manage the performance of owned warehouses and third-party logistics providers, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality standards, and cost-efficiency for warehousing and transportation.
• Implement Life-Saving Rules, define and maintain safety policy standards, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Minimize waste and optimize the use of materials, maintenance, transport, and labor. Take responsibility for waste management and internal transportation.
• Maximize storage capacity and implement process control systems, such as 5S and visual management, to align with rules and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with quality and food safety regulations, and provide staff with necessary training on hygiene and safety standards.
• Monitor and ensure on-time full delivery to customers.
• Set up and manage the organizational structure within the warehouse, ensuring proper employee training and progress tracking.
• Develop and control the yearly budget for the warehousing location, taking corrective and preventive actions when needed.
• Oversee storage, status management, picking, value-added services, transport monitoring, and incident management for finished goods.
• Create transport planning and determine time slots in alignment with business needs.
• Collaborate with the Procurement department and Customer Supply Chain lead in tender evaluations and contracts.
• Provide data for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards, offering insights and decision documents based on periodical and ad-hoc reports.
• Report local warehousing KPIs to Business Groups and corporate, and contribute to the community of practice.
• Support logistics service providers in defining technical processes and training employees to implement these processes effectively.
• Own KPI dashboards and contribute insights to drive continuous improvement (PDCA cycle) in warehousing operations.
