Job Description:
Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc is looking for a skilled Pan Boiler Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining pan boilers used in the sugar refining process. This critical role demands a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain pan boilers, including handling startup, shutdown, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and regulate the boiling process to ensure it meets optimal performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of pan boilers and promptly report any issues or concerns to the Maintenance Team.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to keep the pan boilers in peak working condition.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the pan boilers, collaborating with the Maintenance Team as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of pan boiler performance, maintenance, and repairs.
- Follow safety and quality protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum OND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience operating and maintaining pan boilers in a sugar manufacturing environment.
- In-depth technical knowledge of pan boilers and their operation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Capable of working independently as well as within a team environment.
- High attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including night shifts and weekends.
