Job Description

Leads the process of evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, service, cost, and capability.
Responsible for procuring general and consumable items (MRO items), AGO, raw materials, and capital expenditures (capex).
Contributes to the development of sourcing strategies.
Creates purchase and job orders as needed, and follows up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Identifies opportunities for productivity improvements, potentially collaborating with Improvement Leaders and Service Center staff.
Researches alternative suppliers independently and in collaboration with other buyers, senior buyers, and executive buyers.
Oversees the implementation of contracts and monitors supplier performance and interactions, addressing any operational issues.
Documents quality, service, safety, and supply issues in sourcing quality databases and resolves them with suppliers.
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
Negotiates cost savings to meet business and company objectives.

Key Deliverables

• Understands market dynamics, labor rates, and other factors that could impact purchasing decisions.
• Utilizes auction tools, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and sealed bids to streamline procurement processes.
• Creates and manages leveraged agreements where appropriate.
• Tracks and reports achievements in all relevant systems.
• Directs procurement policies to ensure that all items are purchased and delivered on time and within budget.
• Manages the vendor and supplier selection process, evaluating price, quality, support, capacity, and reliability.
• Develops and manages purchasing budgets and forecasts.
• Demonstrates end-to-end process knowledge of importing and exporting commodities and consumables.
• Well-versed in the EXIM certification and documentation process.
• Understands local government EXIM regulations and rules.
• Resolves conflicts with vendors and stakeholders.
• Shares relevant documents with the finance team for timely payments.
• Trains and guides subordinates to improve team performance.

Requirements

• An Engineering degree is required.
• A Master’s degree or MBA in business administration, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• A strong preference for CIPS or a similar professional qualification.
• Engineering and MBA qualifications from a reputable institution, with 3-5 years of experience handling end-to-end procurement in a mass manufacturing company.
• Extensive experience in contract management.
• Expertise in the direct procurement of general and consumable items, including MRO items, AGO, packaging materials, and asset purchases.
• High proficiency in SAP MM and SAP Ariba.
• Well-versed in the EXIM certification and documentation process.
• Strong leadership skills, along with excellent negotiation and analytical capabilities.
• Knowledge of engineering spares and consumables.
• Able to work independently and thrive in a multicultural environment.
