Job Summary
- We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Intern to join our team and help maintain our high standards in interior design projects.
- This role offers hands-on experience in quality control, focusing on ensuring that all design elements meet client expectations and company standards.
- The intern will assist with inspections, quality checks, and process improvements throughout different project phases, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in interior design and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Inspection and Quality Control:
- Assist in conducting inspections of ongoing and completed interior design projects to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Identify and report any deviations or defects in workmanship, materials, or finishes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document quality control findings and prepare reports for review by the quality control manager.
- Track and record project specifications, material usage, and any quality concerns.
Standards Compliance:
- Support adherence to design and quality standards set by the company, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Assist in reviewing designs, layouts, and material choices for quality assurance.
Vendor and Material Verification:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to verify that materials received from vendors meet required standards and specifications.
- Inspect materials before use to ensure they align with project requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Help identify areas for quality improvement and assist in implementing corrective actions where needed.
- Provide input on improving quality control processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with designers, project managers, and on-site teams to ensure quality standards are understood and met at all stages of a project.
- Assist in coordinating with contractors and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent observational skills.
- Basic understanding of interior design processes, materials, and finishes.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) is a plus.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in quality control or in the interior design/construction industry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies or quality management systems is a plus.
