Job Purpose
The Reconciliation and Settlement Specialist is responsible for addressing and resolving issues related to electronic transactions. This includes performing automated back-office tasks such as dispute processing, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting. The role also involves collaborating with aggregators and business partners to improve service delivery and handling transfer-related inquiries from banks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes, standards, guidelines, and service level agreements for partner organizations.
- Handle customer and merchant disputes, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Work with banks and aggregators to resolve settlement discrepancies.
- Identify, negotiate, and finalize partnership deals for direct product offerings.
- Collaborate with switching companies and card schemes to address settlement issues.
- Reconcile transactions across various payment platforms, including POS.
- Perform daily account reconciliations to identify exceptions and escalate issues to the switch, vendors, or third parties for resolution.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of all transactions processed through terminals.
- Validate daily transaction postings in the system.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in Settlement, Reconciliation & Chargeback roles, preferably in the fintech, banking, or payment industry.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Digital Financial Services or the banking sector.
- Experience with electronic payment systems.
- Strong knowledge of payment processing and gateways.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
