Job Overview

The Service Fulfillment Engineer will be responsible for the deployment and maintenance of high-quality network infrastructure and services for ipNX’s enterprise clients, ensuring adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role involves coordinating and managing activities to provide seamless network services to enterprise customers, including overseeing both existing and new network systems and infrastructure. Additionally, the engineer will handle second-level support for network connectivity and system-related issues, taking full ownership of reported problems and driving them to resolution. The role also requires active involvement in troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions for any network or system issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, optimize, and maintain network systems and infrastructure for both the ipNX network and enterprise customers, ensuring compliance with predefined standards and SLAs.
  • Monitor and safeguard network performance, capacity, availability (target >99.9%), and quality by identifying emerging issues and implementing proactive preventive actions.
  • Recommend improvements and propose product upgrades, including new features, services, and platforms, to cater to current and future needs in the voice communications industry.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field (minimum 2.1 upper credit).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the telecom industry as a Network Communications Engineer.
  • A strong understanding of communications networks, with Cisco network certification required.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices, including routers and switches.
  • In-depth knowledge of wireline and wireless installations (including fibre and ethernet cabling, IP and RF planning, network design, installation, and maintenance).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (bonus skills: Visio, MSProject).
