About the Role
The Shift Coordinator plays a crucial role in achieving the plant’s annual objectives by overseeing clinker production during shifts. This includes ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Monitor and optimize production processes from the quarry to the packing plant.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce Lafarge safety rules through Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) and ensure team adherence.
- Emergency Coordination: Lead plant emergency response and ensure efficient execution of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Maintenance Coordination: Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring post-maintenance tasks are completed.
- Team Management: Guide shift teams to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manage day-to-day operations.
- Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot issues and coordinate resources to prevent equipment failures.
- Planning and Reporting: Participate in plant stoppage planning and ensure accurate daily production reporting.
- Training and Development: Train subordinates, identify training needs, and manage performance appraisals.
- Housekeeping and Compliance: Maintain environmental standards, ensure good housekeeping, and uphold ISO certifications.

- Mechanical, Methods, Production, and Stores Departments: For work requests and repairs.
- Quarry Team: For raw material supply.
- Safety Officers: For accident prevention and safety coordination.
- Security: For addressing security concerns.
What We’re Looking For
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar disciplines).
- Experience:
- 3–5 years in a Shift Manager or Coordinator role within a cement plant.
- Skills:
- Deep knowledge of cement manufacturing processes and quality control parameters.
- Proficiency with computer-aided kiln and mill operation systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor plant processes and address issues proactively.
- Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead short and long-term maintenance plans, including kiln re-bricking.
- Ensure team effectiveness, proper material utilization, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
