Job Description
- Diagnosing and treating animals: Veterinarians examine animals to identify health issues and perform physical exams and lab tests.They then treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, performing surgery, or dressing wounds.
- Advising animal owners: Veterinarians provide advice to animal owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatments.They may also advise on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, and hygiene.
- Performing vaccinations: Veterinarians vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
- Performing routine and emergency procedures: Veterinarians perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.They may also work on out-of-hours emergency cases
- Maintaining medical records: Veterinarians maintain up-to-date medical records for animals.
- Enforcing regulations: Veterinarians may enforce government regulations in disease control and food production.
- Conducting research: Veterinarians may conduct research related to animal nutrition, health care products development, and disease prevention and control.
Responsibilities
