Job Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Accounts & Finance Manager to lead financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide strategic financial planning within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will have 13-15 years of experience, an ACA certification (2020 or earlier), and excellent leadership and analytical skills to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that promote profitability and long-term growth.
  • Provide key financial insights to support decision-making at the executive level.
  • Implement effective cost management and revenue growth strategies.

Accounting & Financial Management:

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and accounting policies that comply with industry standards.
  • Supervise activities related to general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor budget performance and recommend financial improvements.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax filings.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, auditors, and tax authorities to ensure financial compliance.
  • Stay updated on telecommunications industry tax policies and statutory requirements.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment decisions.
  • Oversee foreign exchange transactions, financial risks, and hedging strategies.
  • Implement effective credit control measures to optimize working capital.

Audit & Internal Controls:

  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure transparency and financial accuracy.
  • Strengthen internal controls and enhance the risk management framework.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS, GAAP, and other accounting standards.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Advise on financial best practices and corporate governance.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; an MBA/Finance is a plus.
  • Professional Certification: Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) – obtained in 2020 or earlier.
  • 13-15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Preferred age range: 35-40 years.
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior management and stakeholders.
