Key Responsibilities:

Finance Leadership:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight across all aspects of financial management.
  • Oversee Nigeria’s financial reporting, including analysis of cash flow, financial performance, and AD50 reporting, along with annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to guide investment decisions with a focus on high-potential opportunities.
  • Monitor expenditures in line with the budget, ensuring strong internal controls.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure accurate balance sheet reviews within the district.
  • Drive cost efficiency initiatives across Nigeria.
  • Collaborate with CCE during the forecasting, budgeting process, and investment decisions.
  • Ensure alignment with the Group’s financial goals and requirements.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are well-established and strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international statutory requirements, including tax, ethics, and risk management standards.
  • Lead cash collection efforts, ensuring overdue amounts are minimized.
  • Manage tax risks and provide leadership during tax audits to minimize potential issues.
  • Oversee cash transfers to BV networks and the head office.
  • Foster team development for optimal performance and operational excellence.

General Accounting:

  • Ensure all reporting requirements (Revenue, Production, OP, Cash) are met as per the reporting calendar.
  • Confirm accurate capture and posting of revenues and expenses, with explanations for any budget variances.
  • Prepare weekly projections for cash and revenue.
  • Collaborate with the Area to prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure minimal use of cash and balances in accordance with BV policies.
  • Authorize payment vouchers and TTs, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to policy.
  • Perform job-by-job cost analysis to ensure profitability is tracked and recorded.
  • Process audit adjustments after approval of audited financial statements.
  • Ensure bank mandates comply with BV policies.
  • Monitor invoicing efficiency and minimize credit notes.
  • Prepare the Monthly Business Review pack.
  • Conduct risk management reviews and implement necessary mitigation procedures.
  • Review payroll files before releasing funds.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by CCE/Area CFO.

Procurement / General Services:

  • Register all suppliers/vendors in accordance with BV procedures.
  • Negotiate yearly contracts to secure favorable pricing.
  • Streamline procurement and service processes.
  • Provide support to other Group activities as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, with additional qualifications in management preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and management, ideally in multinational organizations.
  • Registered Accountant with ICAN Fellowship.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English; proficiency in French is an advantage.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achieving revenue, OP, and cash flow targets.
  • Timely and accurate submission of monthly financial reports.
  • Establishment and enforcement of robust internal controls.
  • Minimization of locally trapped cash.
  • Proactive financial management communication with CCE.
  • Accurate submission of returns and reports to auditors, tax consultants, and authorities.
  • Maintaining clean balance sheets for the company.
  • Achieving targeted DSO and CIDS.
  • Successful implementation of a succession plan.
  • Procurement savings and effective service delivery to internal clients.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS requirements.
  • Strong data analysis and project management skills.
  • Experience with accounting systems, especially ORACLE (FLEX), is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.).
