About the Role

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Inspector is to oversee and manage the execution of equipment inspections, evaluate both process and auxiliary equipment, and ensure that all machinery remains in optimal operating condition to maintain high performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operations personnel to identify any equipment issues or concerns and assess their impact on the process.
  • Analyze problems to determine if they are mechanical, electrical, or operational in nature, and provide recommendations for effective solutions utilizing available resources.
  • Investigate equipment issues, suggesting modifications or replacements as necessary.
  • Address recurring problems by initiating corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Regularly communicate with the Production, Process, and Maintenance teams to update them on equipment conditions, advising when shutdowns are necessary to prevent damage or ensure safety.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, availability of safety equipment, and the provision of first aid when required.
  • Manage reliability data to assist in the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), including monitoring vibration, temperature, operating hours, causes, and Pareto charts.
  • Ensure work orders are entered in the CMMS for repairs or adjustments, with correct equipment numbers, detailed descriptions, and appropriate priority codes.
  • Administer the Thermographic Analysis Program for critical electrical equipment, reporting findings and providing recommendations when needed.
  • Prepare the daily work schedule for preventive maintenance tasks, using CMMS to track and update equipment history.
  • Contribute to the administration of the Plant Lubrication Program with a focus on reducing environmental impact.
  • Assist in planning and executing major equipment overhauls.
  • Participate in the Maintenance Supervisor On-Call Program.
  • Record operational data (temperatures, pressures, etc.) for analysis and reporting from the CCR.
  • Oversee the electrical integrity of the plant’s machinery.
  • Comply with EMS Methods Instrumentation activities.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the plant’s integrated management system.
  • Conduct systematic inspections and record data for all plant equipment, following up with relevant departments as needed.
  • Perform specific duties, including basic NDT inspections and the recording of relevant operational information for analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Electrical Engineering or at least 5 years of relevant experience in cement manufacturing.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, resilience under stress, and leadership capabilities are required.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Familiarity with plant equipment and operations.
  • Strong understanding of cement production processes.
  • Proficiency with basic measuring tools.
  • Computer literate.

Managerial Competencies

  • Capable of managing and proposing a budget for the section under their responsibility.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of five craftsmen for specific tasks.
