Responsibilities
- Respond to and address guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance concerns.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room devices, including cleaning and lubricating.
- Inspect tools, equipment, or machines visually and carry necessary tools or radios.
- Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities.
- Manage the maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved methods.
- Demonstrate basic or developing knowledge in areas like air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and clean up post-repair work.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclog toilets and drains), electrical components (e.g., lamps, extension cords, switches, outlets), and guestroom items, along with programming TVs and assisting with housekeeping and inventory tasks.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system for maintenance work.
- Carry out repairs on landscaping and external sprinkler systems.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including entering air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
- Follow all company safety, security policies, and procedures; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications, and store flammable materials correctly.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance remain clean and professional, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
- Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express appreciation to guests.
- Adhere to quality standards and expectations, build positive relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
- Lift, move, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds unassisted, and heavier items with assistance.
- Navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Enter and retrieve work-related information using a computer.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Related Work Experience: Experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
- Supervisory Experience: None required.
Required Qualifications
- License or Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
