Job Overview

We are seeking a highly competent, self-driven, and results-oriented individual to join our team. The candidate will be essential in helping Media Trust Limited achieve its strategic goals by evaluating the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls, providing well-supported opinions on all aspects of these areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and update the internal control systems to align with company policies and procedures.
• Develop a risk-based internal audit plan on an annual basis.
• Continuously identify and communicate risk policies and processes across the organization.
• Evaluate and advise on the adequacy of management’s fraud prevention strategies.
• Assess and review fraud control policies and procedures.
• Report regularly to the Board of Directors through the Board Audit Committee, providing audit findings and relevant recommendations.
• Enhance process efficiency and implement necessary controls to cover all operational processes.
• Develop risk models related to market, credit, and operational risks, ensuring effective control measures are in place.
• Review system audits to ensure proper audit and fiscal control techniques are followed, suggesting improvements to audit procedures and fiscal controls of software systems.
• Ensure the reliability of financial information and management accounts, and investigate any sensitive or fraud-related issues.
• Ensure internal procedures are aligned with corporate policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee pre-audit checks on all company expenses.
• Conduct regular visits to outstations to ensure strict adherence to financial policies.
• Perform bi-annual audits across all departments.
• Supervise the production processes at all company presses.

Requirements

• A degree in Accounting or a related Social Science field.
• A Master’s Degree in business or management is a plus.
• Professional membership in ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, IIA, CISA, or another recognized accounting/auditing association is required.
• At least 15 years of experience in accounting or auditing roles.
• Strong understanding of audit policies, procedures, documentation, and investigative practices.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management techniques and media industry operations.
• Expertise in compiling, analyzing, and summarizing financial data.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to document findings effectively.
