Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Accountant to oversee and enhance our inventory accounting processes. The ideal candidate will ensure inventory records are accurate, support operational efficiency, and provide valuable insights to optimize inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records in line with company policies and accounting standards.
- Reconcile inventory balances between systems and physical counts.
- Analyze inventory discrepancies and provide actionable insights to resolve variances.
- Prepare and report inventory-related journal entries, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes by ensuring precise inventory valuation and reporting.
- Assist with audits by providing required documentation and explanations for inventory transactions.
- Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to streamline inventory workflows.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and suggest strategies to optimize stock levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in inventory accounting or a similar position.
- Proficiency in accounting software and inventory management systems (e.g., Odoo).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and other departments.
- Experience conducting inventory audits and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance concerning inventory management.
