Job Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for implementing the approved production plan to achieve the required volume, quality, and safety standards in the hazardous plant. Close collaboration with the maintenance department is crucial to carry out the preventive maintenance plan and reduce process breakdowns. The role also involves working with the Safety Manager on all safety-related issues concerning production and maintenance. The Production Manager must align with the Technical team and Plant Manager to track improvements, modifications, and to communicate process variables, issues, and recommendations to ensure safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure safety within the production department, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and standards.
• Work with the Plant Manager to implement the production plan and actions required to meet oil and meal production volume and quality targets.
• Coordinate with the shift in charge to manage material intake based on the production plan and monitor the oil storage area to ensure timely oil transfer, confirming quantity and quality.
• Prepare and submit daily and monthly production, utility consumption, and maintenance downtime reports to the Plant Manager on time.
• Partner with the Maintenance Manager to implement preventive maintenance plans and ensure the procurement of necessary spare parts.
• Review daily maintenance reports and collaborate with the maintenance team to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
• Focus on continuous team development through training, coaching, and motivation, with special attention to hazardous plant operations, compliance with HSE and GMP standards, and maintaining and improving internal process control, environmental management, and safety protocols for food and employees.
• Investigate operational challenges, analyze proposed modifications from shift supervisors, and assist the Plant Manager in implementing these changes for smooth operations.
• Regularly review and update plant SOPs to ensure they align with operational health and compliance with all relevant standards.
• Coordinate with logistics and engineering teams to maintain minimum stock levels for plant consumables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience as a Production/Process Manager in large Solvent Extraction Plants with a capacity of over 1000 tons per day.
• Experience with modern solvent extraction technology is a plus.
